SalesAPE vs Conversica: 5 Questions to Ask First

Five straight questions — on voice, speed, proof, and who each platform is actually built for — to help you choose between SalesAPE and Conversica.

Conversica is one of the biggest names in AI-powered customer conversations — enterprise scale, blue-chip customers, over a decade in the category. If you're weighing it against SalesAPE, here are five questions worth asking before you decide, answered honestly for both, drawn directly from Conversica's own published pages.

Where a claim needs a caveat, we've left it in rather than smoothed it over.

1

Does it actually pick up the phone?

Conversica

Across its homepage, About page and Channel Partners page, every channel described is text-based — email, SMS, chat and messaging apps. We couldn't find voice or calling mentioned anywhere in what's published.

SalesAPE

Abi answers phone calls directly, with a trained voice, alongside text, email, WhatsApp and web chat — so a caller and a texter both get handled by the same AI.

Why it matters: if a meaningful share of your leads pick up the phone, a text-only AI only ever covers part of the conversation.

2

How fast is "fast"?

Conversica

Describes its agents as "available 24/7" but doesn't publish a specific response-time number on the pages we reviewed. Its own featured story (Iron Mountain, a $500K deal) actually shows a multi-day gap — the AI held the conversation over a holiday weekend, but a human rep didn't call back until the following Tuesday.

SalesAPE

Publishes a specific number: sub-30-second response, 24/7, across every channel — backed by named customers (Zubie: under 30 seconds; Willow Tree Realty: lead coverage from 30% to 100%).

Why it matters: "instant" is a claim. A published number tied to a named customer is proof.

3

What's the actual evidence it works?

Conversica

Leads with scale — "1.5 billion conversations for 2,000+ teams." Across the pages we reviewed, we didn't find a conversion rate, ROI figure, or outcome metric tied to a named customer. (One product screenshot shows numbers like "$2.6M pipeline impact," but it's an illustrative dashboard mockup, not a cited result.)

SalesAPE

Publishes named, checkable outcomes: 12x ROI (Zubie), 10x ROI (Willow Tree Realty and Active Reality), 6.6x ROI (Canada Benefit Group) — each tied to a real company, industry and figure.

Why it matters: scale tells you how big a company is. Named outcomes tell you what actually happens to a customer like you.

4

Is this actually built for a business my size?

Conversica

Its customer logos run Fortune-500 and enterprise scale — T-Mobile, ServiceNow, Hexagon, the New York Knicks, the Boston Red Sox. Onboarding is a consultative three-step process ("Meet With Our Experts → Build Your AI Agent → Start Seeing Results"). No pricing is published anywhere.

SalesAPE

Backed by $20M from investors behind Spotify, Revolut, Trustpilot and Klarna, and built specifically for service businesses without an in-house technical team — hundreds of businesses across the US, UK and Europe already run it.

Why it matters: an enterprise-grade platform built around enterprise accounts isn't always priced, configured, or supported the way a 50–300 employee business needs.

5

Will your customers know they're talking to AI?

This one's a genuine tie. Conversica lets you set a specific AI disclaimer message per agent. SalesAPE can also be configured to identify itself as AI, with the disclosure adapting as local regulation changes. Neither is a reason to choose one over the other on its own.

One honest exception

If you're already a large enterprise running an active partner or reseller network, and your procurement process needs SOC 2 and GDPR documentation on record before any other conversation starts, Conversica covers ground SalesAPE doesn't — partner-channel enablement, plus enterprise compliance credentials stated directly on their site.

For most service businesses, though, that's not the buying criteria — the five questions above are.

Common questions

Is SalesAPE cheaper than Conversica?

Conversica doesn't publish pricing on the pages we reviewed. SalesAPE doesn't publish a flat rate either, but that's deliberate rather than an unknown: every business needs a different mix of channels and skills, so we quote each customer individually and you only pay for what your AI actually uses — not a generic package. Most customers weigh that quote against the cost of hiring: roughly $60–80K a year for a single SDR.

Does SalesAPE do everything Conversica does?

No — Conversica's channel-partner enablement product isn't something SalesAPE offers, and we'd rather say that directly. What SalesAPE does instead is go deeper on direct customer-facing lead engagement, across more channels, including voice.

Which one is better for a small or mid-size service business?

Based on what's public, SalesAPE. Conversica's own case study, logo wall and onboarding process all point toward enterprise accounts with dedicated marketing and IT teams. SalesAPE is built and priced for businesses that don't have that in-house team.

Can I see how SalesAPE would actually work for my business first?

Yes — that's exactly what a demo is for. We'd rather show you than ask you to take it on faith.

Trained on your business, not a shared template — with a published response time and named results to check for yourself.
